Ataman Thanks Panathinaikos Players for Effort After Championship Loss

Panathinaikos BC fell short in the fifth and final game of the Stoiximan GBL, losing the Greek championship title to Olympiacos for the second year in a row. Following the decisive match, head coach Ergin Ataman gathered his players in the locker room to offer words of encouragement. He thanked them for their dedication throughout a challenging season, emphasizing that fans remain proud of their efforts. Ataman acknowledged the intense and often difficult environment of Greek basketball, noting that officiating in the home games was not consistent. He stated that while he knows some players had issues with him during the season, it's natural given the high-pressure setting. The coach reminded his team of their journey, including reaching the Euroleague Final Four and losing in a fifth game, and their pursuit of the domestic championship, which also ended in a Game 5 loss. Their only silverware this season was the Greek Cup.
