ATE Strike Disrupts Argentine Airports Amid Salary Dispute

Argentine national civil aviation workers, organized under ATE ANAC, are set to launch a national strike and mobilize at Aeroparque and other airports this Tuesday, April 21st. This significant industrial action stems from an unresolved salary dispute after negotiations with the current government reached an impasse.

Rodolfo Aguiar, the General Secretary of ATE Nacional, confirmed the strike, expressing frustration with the administration's lack of willingness to reopen salary negotiations or engage in meaningful wage recovery discussions. He stated that "all avenues have been exhausted," leading the union to "deepen all measures of force."

The union's communiqué outlines a "national day of struggle and protest" encompassing strikes, concentrations, public actions, and mobilizations across the national, provincial, and municipal public administration. Specifically, the mobilization towards Aeroparque is scheduled to begin at noon from Avenida Costanera Rafael Obligado and Jerónimo Salguero. ATE ANAC has warned that the government has shown no political will to resolve the conflict, despite the union's adherence to a mandatory conciliation period. They accuse the government of aiming to harm workers rather than resolve the dispute.
