Athens Metro stations to close early during overnight rail works

Passengers using Athens Metro Line 3 will face early closures from Monday through Thursday as crews replace rails on the Elaionas-Monastiraki section. Elaionas, Kerameikos and Monastiraki stations will close at 9:40 p.m., two and a half hours before the normal end of service.

During the works, trains will continue to operate between Dimotiko Theatro and Egaleo, as well as between Syntagma, Doukissis Plakentias and the airport. After the technical work begins, airport-bound trains will depart from Syntagma, while trains arriving from the airport will terminate there.

Departures from Syntagma to the airport are scheduled for 10:02 p.m., 10:38 p.m. and 11:14 p.m. Services from the airport to Syntagma will leave at 9:46 p.m., 10:22 p.m., 10:58 p.m. and 11:34 p.m.

To help passengers, OASA will operate temporary bus route X24 from Syntagma Metro station to Egaleo Metro station, and in the opposite direction, from 9:40 p.m. until the end of Metro service on Sundays through Thursdays. The route will serve all three closed stations, with stops at Syntagma, Omonia, Monastiraki, Kerameikos, Elaionas and Egaleo.
