Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has raised concerns over a suspicious credit alert received in one of his private bank accounts. The alert, which appeared with the narration "Contribution Electioneering Campaign," originated from an unknown individual or entity, prompting Abubakar's team to notify security agencies.

Phrank Shaibu, Abubakar's Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, stated that neither the candidate nor his campaign solicited or authorized the payment. He emphasized that the account is private and its details are not publicly accessible. Shaibu questioned how confidential banking information could be accessed, warning that if a former Vice President's details are compromised, no Nigerian's financial privacy is secure.
