Atiku raises alarm over suspicious credit alert in his bank account

Former Nigerian Vice President and presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has sounded the alarm over an unauthorized credit alert appearing in one of his private bank accounts. The transfer, which bore the narration "Contribution Electioneering Campaign," originated from an individual completely unknown to Abubakar or his campaign team.

Abubakar's Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, stated that neither the former Vice President nor his campaign solicited, authorized, or had any knowledge of the payment. The circumstances surrounding this transfer are deeply troubling, particularly as the account is private and its details are not publicly accessible.

This incident raises serious questions about how confidential banking information of a prominent citizen was obtained. Shaibu emphasized that if a former Vice President's private financial details can be accessed, then no Nigerian's financial privacy is secure.
