Atlético eye Osimhen amid Alvarez uncertainty

Atlético Madrid is reportedly monitoring Victor Osimhen, the Galatasaray striker, as they prepare for a significant summer transfer window. The Spanish club's interest stems from the uncertain future of their own striker, Julián Álvarez, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

Osimhen has enjoyed a highly successful spell in Turkey since joining Galatasaray last summer. He has netted 59 goals and provided 16 assists in 74 appearances across all competitions over two seasons. This impressive form has attracted considerable attention from top European clubs, including Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

According to reports, initial discussions have taken place, and Osimhen is reportedly open to a move to La Liga. However, Galatasaray has set a high valuation of at least €100 million for the Nigerian international. Atlético is reportedly willing to meet this asking price, contingent on Álvarez's potential departure.

Despite the transfer speculation, Osimhen recently indicated he is not actively seeking a move away from Galatasaray, stating he would only leave if the club decides to sell him. He previously spoke positively about Atlético coach Diego Simeone after facing the team in the Champions League.
