Atletico Madrid reportedly bids 45 million Euros for Mason Greenwood, challenging Fenerbahçe

Atletico Madrid has reportedly entered the race for English footballer Mason Greenwood, who has also been linked with Fenerbahçe. According to French outlet L'Equipe, Atletico Madrid has submitted a formal offer of 45 million Euros, with an additional 5 million Euros in bonuses, to Greenwood's current club. The Spanish giants are also said to have presented a lucrative five-year contract to the player, offering an annual net salary of 5-6 million Euros along with a share of his image rights.

However, Fenerbahçe remains a strong contender, having reportedly offered 40 million Euros plus bonuses. The Turkish club is also said to be offering Greenwood a more substantial annual salary of 7-8 million Euros net for a four-year deal. Fenerbahçe's management is reportedly making significant efforts to persuade the player, presenting strong arguments to secure the transfer.

Atletico Madrid is said to have pitched the move to Greenwood as an opportunity to replace Antoine Griezmann, become a star at a major European club, and potentially facilitate a future return to England. Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe is also exploring alternative transfer targets, including Malcolm and Luiz Henrique, should their pursuit of Greenwood falter.

Greenwood, who is reportedly eager to return to Spain after his previous stint in Madrid, has contributed to 37 goals in 45 official matches last season, scoring 26 and assisting 11. He has allegedly shared his desire to play in Spain with his Marseille teammates.
