ATM bombing crew sentenced in Uruguay; trap singer gets longest jail term

Four individuals have been sentenced for their involvement in an ATM bombing and a subsequent police chase in Parque Miramar, Ciudad de la Costa. The incident occurred early Friday morning when the group used explosives to detonate an ATM.

Following the explosion, a pursuit ensued, during which police apprehended three of the suspects. A fourth individual managed to escape but was later apprehended. Among those arrested was Nahuel Montero, 28, a Uruguayan trap singer known as Nahuel One23, who received the longest sentence of two years and four months in prison.

Two other arrested individuals were identified as Chilean nationals, aged 35 and 44, both with prior criminal records in their home country. The fourth member of the group, also Chilean, was 37 years old.

After legal proceedings, the court handed down varying sentences. Three of the defendants received sentences of at least two years in penitentiary, while one was sentenced to 16 months in prison. The charges included attempted aggravated theft, aggravated association to commit a crime, aggravated receiving stolen goods, and in some cases, aggravated home invasion and destruction of property by explosion.
