Atoyebi Tasks Youths On Turning Passion Into Careers

Bamidele Atoyebi, convener of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group (BAT-IG), is urging Nigerian youths to transform their passions into viable careers and actively contribute to national development. He advises young people to move beyond being mere critics of government and societal challenges, instead channeling their talents and dedication into productive ventures.

Atoyebi argues that unemployment extends beyond a lack of jobs to include dissatisfaction with current economic conditions, even when employed. He emphasizes that true career satisfaction stems from working in fields that align with genuine interests and passions, leading to purpose, fulfillment, and long-term impact.

To illustrate his point, Atoyebi shared the story of a basketball enthusiast who, unable to play professionally, volunteered with Nigeria's national basketball team. His dedication led to national recognition and rewards, including a house, a vehicle, and a national honor, after the team became African champions. This, Atoyebi noted, demonstrates how commitment to service can yield life-changing opportunities.

He also cited Bishop David Oyedepo as an example of passion evolving into purpose. Oyedepo's devotion to advancing Christianity, initially without aspiring to be a pastor, led to the establishment of churches and the spread of Christianity in various communities. This commitment eventually grew into a global ministry. Atoyebi further referenced Oyedepo's enthusiastic promotion of author Kenneth E. Hagin's books, which inspired Oyedepo's own emergence as a prominent figure in Christian literature and ministry.
