Attacker yells 'Allahu Akbar', stabs two in potential Manhattan antisemitic hate crime

A stabbing outside an Orthodox Jewish synagogue in Manhattan has prompted an investigation into a potential antisemitic hate crime. Two men were attacked on Thursday, with eyewitnesses reporting the assailant shouted "Allahu Akbar" during the incident. One victim, 57, was stabbed in the back, while a second man, 50, sustained a chest wound.

Local police confirmed one victim is Asian and the other is Jewish. The Anti-Defamation League highlighted the eyewitness accounts of the attacker's shouts. The incident occurred near the Lincoln Square Synagogue on Amsterdam Avenue.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, directly blamed New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, accusing him of inciting hatred that endangers Jewish lives in New York. Danon stated on X, "Your incitement is putting Jewish lives in danger in New York... You have spent months fueling hatred, demonizing Israel and legitimizing hostility toward Jews. Now take responsibility for the consequences."
