Augsburg debutant Seol Young-woo provides assist just one minute after coming on

Seol Young-woo needed only a minute to make his mark in Germany. The South Korea defender came off the bench in stoppage time and quickly created Augsburg’s third goal in a 3-0 opening-day win over Schalke.

Wearing the No. 7 shirt, Seol replaced right wing-back Marius Wolf. From the right side of the penalty area, he threaded a precise pass to Rodrigo Ribeiro, who struck a powerful right-footed shot into the net in the second minute of added time.

Augsburg had already taken control before Seol entered. Michael Gregoritsch opened the scoring in the 18th minute, and Schalke later went down to 10 men after a player received a red card for a rough back tackle while trying to stop a counterattack. Anton Kade added Augsburg’s second in the 79th minute.

Seol joined Augsburg from Serbia’s Red Star Belgrade on July 27. His first appearance for the club ended with an assist almost immediately, giving him a memorable introduction in front of the home supporters.
