August 9: The day a dream ended - Michael the Brave assassinated, Nagasaki devastated

Born in 1558, Michael the Brave served as the ruler of Wallachia from 1593 to 1600. During a pivotal period, he achieved the de facto leadership of the three medieval states that now form modern Romania: Wallachia, Transylvania, and Moldova.
