AUR claims it can exceed 40% in future elections

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) is confident it will secure over 40% of the vote in upcoming elections, according to party official Dan Dungaciu. As the first deputy leader of the formation, Dungaciu stated his absolute conviction in this projection during an interview.

Dungaciu believes there is a significant gap between public expectations and the current parliamentary makeup, which he suggests could lead to early elections. He indicated that AUR is prepared for such a scenario, with its current list of candidates ready and potentially expanding. He also speculated that a new government could be formed relatively quickly if political parties reach a compromise, suggesting a functional government reflecting the popular will could be in place by autumn.

If there were early elections, we would have no problem. All those who are now on the list will be on the list tomorrow. And even more could join.

Analyzing the political scene, Dungaciu identified the Social Democratic Party (PSD) as the main entity seeking to avoid early elections, describing the party as being in "disarray." He also commented on the National Liberal Party (PNL), suggesting its public image could improve based on future political decisions and voter perception of its leaders. Dungaciu further discussed recent government changes and the opposition's parliamentary actions, referencing a past no-confidence motion initiated by AUR against a government led by "Bolojan."
