Australia supports climate-resilient growth in PNG

Australia and Papua New Guinea recently convened a two-day workshop in Lae focused on validating the Climate-Resilient Green Growth (CRGG) Strategy for the Morobe province. The event aimed to finalize the province's CRGG Strategy and identify priority investments essential for sustainable development.

This collaborative effort underscores Australia's ongoing commitment to supporting Papua New Guinea in its climate change adaptation and resilience efforts. The initiative is part of the Australia-funded Climate Finance Initiative for Resilience and a Sustainable Transition (Climate FIRST) project, which seeks to foster environmentally sound development pathways.

The workshop provided a platform for stakeholders to review and endorse the CRGG Strategy, ensuring it aligns with the province's development goals and addresses the challenges posed by climate change. By prioritizing key investments, the partnership aims to channel resources effectively towards projects that promote green growth and enhance resilience in Morobe.
