Australian-Croatian author writes novel about football: Tonči Prusac reveals story connecting sport and life

Tonči Prusac, an Australian-Croatian author, is set to release his debut novel, "The Last Whistle: A Footballer's Legacy." The book explores the world of football while delving into the complexities of migrant life, family dynamics, and individual struggles. The narrative promises a blend of sport and personal experience, offering a unique perspective on the challenges faced by many.

The official launch of the novel will take place on August 6 at the North Geelong Warriors football club premises. Following this, a second presentation is scheduled for a week later at the St Albans Dinamo club in Melbourne. These events will provide an opportunity for readers and football enthusiasts to engage with the author and learn more about the inspiration behind the book.

Prusac, who has held various roles in the football community, including player, coach, and board member for North Geelong Warriors, as well as a former board member of Melbourne Knights during the Australian National Football League (NSL) era, brings a wealth of experience to his writing. He also works as a digital content manager for Hrvatski Vjesnik. His novel is built upon years of observing football from multiple viewpoints and incorporates conversations with players across different levels of the sport.
