Austria fields record contingent for World Equestrian Games in Aachen

Austria is sending its largest-ever contingent to the World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, with 40 athletes competing across all six disciplines. The event, held from August 11-23, will take place in the world's largest equestrian stadium, which can accommodate 40,000 spectators.

This marks the first world championship under the new leadership of Herbert Gugganig, president of the Austrian Equestrian Federation (OEPS). He succeeds Elisabeth Max-Theurer, who held the position for 24 years. The competition itself is a significant global event, drawing over 800 participants from approximately 70 nations.

Among the Austrian competitors is Katharina Rhomberg from Vorarlberg, who has had a successful season, including her first five-star jumping victory in Versilia, Tuscany. Her participation highlights the depth of talent within the Austrian team as they aim for success on the world stage.
