Austrian-German drama 'Everytime' wins Heart of Sarajevo award

The Austrian-German drama 'Everytime' has captured the top prize at the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival, winning the prestigious Heart of Sarajevo award for best feature film. Directed by Sandra Wollner, the film is described as a moving story about grief that brings together an unusual trio: a mother, her daughter, and a teenager. They embark on a journey to Tenerife to confront the tragic death of the eldest daughter, sister, and former girlfriend. The film delves into themes of mourning, loss, guilt, memory, and forgiveness. Wollner presented the film in Sarajevo, offering her perspective on its narrative. The festival itself concluded with an awards ceremony and a screening of a restored version of 'No Man's Land,' the Oscar-winning film by Bosnian-Herzegovinian director Danis Tanović, marking the 25th anniversary of its release. 'Everytime' had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival prior to its success in Sarajevo. The narrative centers on the profound impact of loss and the complex emotional processes involved in coping with such a tragedy.
