Authorities search for "Islamist spectrum" suspect in Berlin multiple vehicle attack

Berlin police are actively searching for a 21-year-old man, identified as Abdul B., who is considered a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred during the city's LGBTI Pride celebration. The attack, which took place in the Tiergarten park area on Saturday, left one person dead and 16 others injured.

Authorities stated that the suspect is "affiliated with the Islamist spectrum" and is currently on the run. The police released a photograph of the individual, describing him as slim, approximately 1.90 meters tall, with black hair, wearing white pants and a black hooded sweatshirt. The incident involved a vehicle driving into a crowd, and initial reports suggest that individuals may have exited the vehicle and used bladed weapons against victims.

Police spokesperson Florian Nath confirmed in a video message on social media that Abdul B. is known to authorities for his association with "Islamist circles." The investigation is ongoing, with police and the General Prosecutor's Office of Berlin leading the search for the suspect.
