Auxiliary police officer injured in collision with SUV in Benito Juárez; driver detained

An auxiliary police officer sustained injuries in a traffic accident on Monday afternoon in the Américas Unidas neighborhood of Mexico City's Benito Juárez mayor's office. The officer was riding a black motorcycle when a gray Toyota Avanza collided with him under a bridge on Calzada de Tlalpan, near Eje 5 Sur.

Emergency services were alerted after monitoring systems showed a person lying on the road. Responding officers secured the area and requested medical assistance. Paramedics from SAMU-CRUM evaluated the injured officer, who is approximately 40 years old. He was diagnosed with multiple traumas and transported to Obregón Hospital for treatment.

Initial reports indicate the officer belongs to Sector 60 of the Auxiliary Police. The driver of the Toyota Avanza, identified as the party responsible for the collision, was apprehended by transit police. Both the driver and the vehicle were taken to Territorial Coordination BJ-2 for legal processing.

Officials from the General Directorate of Internal Affairs were notified of the incident to conduct the necessary inquiries. Emergency services continued their operations at the scene following the accident.
