Ex-child star sues Disney alleging abuse by worker, negligence

Raquel Lee Bolleau, who began her acting career as a child star, has filed a lawsuit against Disney, alleging she was sexually abused by a production worker during the filming of the 2001 movie "The Poof Point." Bolleau, who was 14 at the time, claims the incident occurred on at least two occasions and accuses the company of negligence for failing to protect her.

According to reports, Bolleau stated that a production member began to get too close to her after she was cast as Marie Curie Ballard. Despite other workers encouraging her to bond with him, she later found herself in a hotel room where he allegedly gave her alcohol and then assaulted her. She recounts being told to return to her room alone, despite being intoxicated.

The alleged abuse continued during filming, with Bolleau reporting that staff members observed her vomiting and smelling of alcohol but did not intervene. She also claims a second assault by the same individual occurred during the flight back to California, even though Disney had booked her a first-class seat without her guardian.

Bolleau asserts that Disney executives questioned her behavior, with one reportedly calling her "out of control" and another telling her mother she had "a demon inside." She states the consequences of these experiences have impacted her career and emotional well-being for decades. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for Disney's alleged failure to properly hire, supervise, and protect a minor.
