Avenida Don Atiliano Cáceres reopened; upcoming detours planned

The Avenida Don Atiliano Cáceres in Luque, Paraguay, has been reopened to vehicular traffic, offering temporary relief from congestion. The avenue will remain accessible throughout August, following intensive work over the weekend as part of the Corredor Vial Las Residentas project.

During August 8 and 9, temporary diversions were in place on the Corredor Vial Las Residentas, near the Conmebol area, to facilitate the duplication of Route D025, also known as Tape Tuja. This initial phase impacted Avenida Don Atilano Cáceres near Avenida Sudamericana, focusing on the installation of reinforced concrete box culverts to improve the area's drainage system.

Ingeniero Rogelio Espinola, superintendent of works for the Las Residentas corridor, confirmed the successful completion of the weekend's tasks, which included crossing Avenida Atiliano Cáceres. Work will continue in the same sector, moving towards the Conmebol stadium area for connections with existing systems, without affecting current traffic flow.

The project is currently at 36% completion, with a scheduled delivery date of February 2027. The next phase, set to begin in September, will involve approximately 20 days of work on the adjacent lane of Avenida Sudamericana, leading towards Elizardo Aquino. During this period, the left-turn lane towards Luque will be temporarily closed, though the central and right-turn lanes will remain operational.
