Azerbaijan President Thanks Kyrgyzstan for Karabakh Restoration Aid, Highlights Manas School

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to Kyrgyzstan for its significant contributions to the restoration efforts in Karabakh. The president highlighted the symbolic importance of a school jointly established in the Aghdam district, which has been named in honor of the Kyrgyz epic hero Manas.

Speaking at the third meeting of the Interstate Council of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, held in Cholpon-Ata, Aliyev stated that children are already attending the Manas-named school. He described the educational institution as a testament to the brotherhood and unity between the Azerbaijani and Kyrgyz peoples, emphasizing that it will serve as a lasting monument to their solidarity.

I would also like to express my gratitude for the assistance in the restoration of Karabakh. The school we opened together in Aghdam district is named after Manas, and children are already studying there. This school is another symbol of our brotherhood and will forever remain a monument to the unity of our peoples.

President Aliyev noted that the opening of the school has been warmly received not only by the residents of Karabakh but by all of Azerbaijan. His visit to Kyrgyzstan, which began with a state visit on July 30, included a one-on-one meeting with President Sadyr Japarov and participation in the Interstate Council meeting.

The gesture of naming the school after Manas underscores the deep cultural and historical ties between the two nations. It serves as a concrete example of cooperation and mutual support, particularly in the post-conflict reconstruction phase in Karabakh.
