Bacău Bypass to temporarily close July 15 for A7 Motorway connection

The Bacău Bypass in Romania will face temporary closure starting July 15 to facilitate its connection with newly constructed sections of the A7 Motorway, also known as Autostrada Moldovei. This closure is a crucial step toward fully integrating the city into the national highway network.

According to Dan Hătegan, spokesperson for the Regional Directorate for Road and Bridges Iași (DRDP Iași), the closure will affect the entire length of the Bacău Bypass, from kilometer 0+000 to 20+300, between Nicolae Bălcescu and Bogdan Vodă localities. The closure is essential for establishing definitive links between the existing bypass and the new A7 segments originating from Adjud and extending towards Pașcani.

While the exact timeline for the closure, alternative routes, and traffic signaling schemes are still being finalized in coordination with the construction contractor, DRDP Iași has confirmed the necessity of these measures. The temporary closure is expected to increase traffic on national roads and within the city of Bacău itself, prompting authorities to advise drivers to monitor official announcements and plan their journeys accordingly.

This connection marks one of the final technical stages before continuous traffic flow can be established on significant portions of the A7 Motorway, including the segments between Adjud and Bacău, and subsequently towards Pașcani. The completion of this phase will significantly improve regional connectivity and transportation efficiency.

According to the information at this moment, vehicle traffic on VO Bacău will be closed starting July 15, for the purpose of connecting with the new section of A7. For now, the closure affects the entire length of VO Bacău, but an official communication will be transmitted after all details regarding the contractor's work schedule and the signaling scheme to be implemented are established.
