Baccalaureate 2027: New Exam Calendar Sets March Simulations and June Written Tests

Romania’s Education and Research Ministry has published a new calendar for the summer session of the 2027 Baccalaureate, changing both the timing and order of the examination stages.

The written-exam simulations will take place from March 22 to 25. Students will sit Romanian language and literature on March 22, the compulsory subject for their academic track on March 23, the optional subject on March 24, and the mother-tongue test on March 25. Simulation results will be published on April 9, giving students and teachers about two weeks to review performance and adjust preparation.

The official examination will begin in April with oral competency assessments. Romanian oral communication will be tested from April 12 to 14, followed by mother-tongue assessments from April 14 to 16. Foreign-language communication tests are scheduled for April 19 to 21, and digital skills assessments will run from April 21 to 23.

Written exams will follow from June 14 to 18, later than the traditional July-August schedule. Romanian language and literature is set for June 14, the compulsory track subject for June 15, the optional subject for June 17, and the mother-tongue examination for June 18. The roughly two-month gap between the competency tests and written papers will give candidates time to prepare for each subject.

The first written-exam results are due by noon on June 23. The calendar also allows students to request access to their papers, while final results are scheduled for July 1, 2027.
