Bad Bunny, Rob Reiner and Mariska Hargitay among early 2026 Emmy winners

The 2026 Emmy season opened with the Creative Arts Emmys, where Bad Bunny, the late Rob Reiner and Mariska Hargitay were among the prominent names recognized before the main Primetime ceremony.

Bad Bunny won for the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, which also received the award for outstanding choreography for variety or reality programming and the award for outstanding directing for a variety special. Reiner won for his guest role on The Bear.

Hargitay's documentary My Mom Jayne won outstanding directing for a documentary or nonfiction program and outstanding documentary or nonfiction special. Other winners included The Traitors, which won for outstanding cinematography and directing in reality programming, and Love on the Spectrum, which won for outstanding casting for a reality program.

The awards cover reality and documentary programming, variety shows, casting, choreography, cinematography and other technical and creative fields. The first-night winners also included Ocean With David Attenborough, Mr. Scorsese, Jeopardy!, Jimmy Kimmel, Alan Cumming and Stanley Tucci. The ceremony is being held over two nights, with more categories to be announced before the Primetime Emmys on Sept. 14.
