Bad weather persists: Uruguay's forecast shows low temperatures, clouds, and rain

Residents of Uruguay are bracing for continued inclement weather, with forecasts predicting a prolonged spell of low temperatures, persistent cloudiness, and scattered rain.

The Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) reports that Montevideo and its surrounding metropolitan area will experience minimum temperatures around 10°C and maximums of 14°C. The skies are expected to be mostly cloudy to overcast, accompanied by fog and potential isolated showers. Winds will be from the southeast.

Looking ahead, the forecast for Tuesday suggests similar conditions, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 14°C and slightly milder winds. By Wednesday, temperatures are expected to drop slightly between 10°C and 13°C, with gusts reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour. The latter half of the week, Thursday and Friday, will see temperatures ranging from 7°C to 15°C, though cloud cover may increase, and new showers are possible.

Meteorologist Mario Bidegain noted on his X account that while conditions might improve slightly from Monday after the weekend's heavy rains and storms, light drizzles are still anticipated until Tuesday. He indicated that minimum temperatures would hover between 9°C and 11°C, with maximums between 12°C and 13°C until at least Thursday. However, some sunshine is expected from Wednesday onwards.

Fellow meteorologist Guillermo Ramis commented on Informativo Sarandí (AM 690) that the week's temperatures, while slightly low, are seasonal. He confirmed the possibility of showers on Tuesday and Friday, with other days remaining cloudy or overcast. This pattern stands in contrast to the recent warmer spell Uruguay experienced.
