Badejo-Okusanya’s NBA triumph inspires women, says Natasha

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has celebrated the historic election of Mrs Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya as the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Badejo-Okusanya made history on Sunday by becoming the first woman to be elected to lead the NBA since its establishment in 1960.

The Senator highlighted the profound significance of Badejo-Okusanya's election for Nigerian women and girls, believing it will inspire more women to pursue leadership positions. "Her election sends a powerful message to every girl and woman across our nation: that leadership has no gender, and that barriers which stood for generations can indeed be broken," Akpoti-Uduaghan remarked.

Expressing confidence in the new NBA president's capacity, Akpoti-Uduaghan stated, "As a fellow woman in public service, I celebrate this milestone with great pride and optimism. Badejo-Okusanya secured the presidency by defeating two other Senior Advocates of Nigeria in the election, polling 12,317 votes.
