Bakırköy's 'YenidenFest' Draws Strong Interest

Bakırköy Municipality's second 'YenidenFest' successfully drew large crowds over its two-day run, championing sustainable consumption and economic benefits. The festival provided a platform for hundreds of second-hand items, ranging from toys and apparel to household goods, to find new owners.

Operating under the vision of "Discover, Save, Reuse," the event, held at the Bakırköy Municipality Main Service Building campus, aimed to reintegrate usable second-hand products back into the economy. Beyond facilitating the exchange of goods, the festival also served as a social gathering point, emphasizing solidarity and environmental consciousness.

A dedicated play area for children added a vibrant touch, offering young attendees entertainment. Mayor Ayşegül Ovalıoğlu emphasized the municipality's commitment to environmental protection, waste reduction, and recycling. She stated that YenidenFest not only facilitates the sharing of items but also strengthens social solidarity among neighbors and boosts the local economy, reinforcing their dedication to a more livable Bakırköy through eco-friendly initiatives.
