Bali Governor: No Foreigners-Only Clubs Remain After Immigration Crackdown

Bali Governor Wayan Koster has declared that the island is now free of "foreigners-only" clubs, following recent actions against the "Entourage Run" club in Canggu. The club is suspected of barring Indonesian citizens from participating in its events.

Regarding this exclusive foreigners-only club, there was an exclusive residential community that has since ceased to exist. I believe this is the same case.

Koster addressed concerns surrounding the "Silent Disco" event organized by "Entourage Run," dismissing reports of discrimination. He asserted that Indonesians were present at the event and that claims of exclusion were inaccurate. The governor also referred to the cessation of an exclusive residential community, often called the "Russian village," as an example of such exclusive groups no longer existing.

Despite recent incidents involving foreigners, Koster emphasized that Bali remains a leading global tourist destination, describing the situation as "good, conducive, and safe." He urged the public to rely on actual conditions rather than social media narratives.

Earlier, Indonesia's Directorate General of Immigration took action against two Dutch nationals who organized the "Entourage Run" club. Immigration Director General Hendarsam Marantoko stated that the club was functioning as a "state within a state" and that the organizers had violated immigration regulations by operating without proper permits. The Dutch nationals have reportedly been banned from traveling.
