Bali Legislature Approves Teams to Review 2026 Budget Revision and 2027 Budget

Bali’s provincial legislature has approved a special team to examine two budget regulations proposed by Governor Wayan Koster. The measures cover revisions to the 2026 budget and the province’s 2027 budget.

DPRD Bali Chairman I Dewa Made Mahayadnya said the team would allow the budget discussions to proceed with greater care and depth. The budget body will be coordinated by I Gede Kusuma Putra, with I Made Darma Susila as deputy coordinator.

Mahayadnya said the decision received full support from the lawmakers attending the meeting, although three deputy speakers from three factions were absent. The legislature’s deliberation body will now adjust its schedule to support the newly formed team.

The budget body will discuss the revision of Bali Province's 2026 budget and the bill on Bali Province's 2027 budget, with I Gede Kusuma Putra as coordinator and I Made Darma Susila as deputy coordinator.

Koster said submitting the two bills together had strategic importance for the continuity of regional development. He described the revised 2026 budget as a tool for adjusting to the implementation of the current year’s spending, while the 2027 budget would establish the fiscal foundation for development in the following year.

Under the proposed 2026 revision, regional revenue would rise by about 100 billion rupiah from its original target of more than 6.5 trillion rupiah to above 6.6 trillion rupiah. Local revenue would account for more than 4.3 trillion rupiah, including over 2.837 trillion rupiah in local taxes and 649 billion rupiah in regional fees. Transfer revenue would reach more than 2.27 trillion rupiah. Planned spending would increase by more than 263 billion rupiah to above 7.5 trillion rupiah, including 5.4 trillion rupiah in operating expenditure and 841 billion rupiah in capital spending.

The 2026 budget revision is an instrument to adjust to the dynamics of the current year's budget implementation, while the 2027 budget is an instrument to prepare the fiscal foundation for development in the following year.
