Baltic states coordinate efforts to halt shipments of Russian grain

Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are coordinating efforts to stop Russian grain, as well as grain possibly stolen from occupied Ukrainian territories, from being transported through their countries.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius said Lithuania supports Ukraine and does not want Russian grain moving through its territory. The war and attacks on ports have made it more difficult to transport agricultural products.

Agriculture Minister Kęstutis Mažeika instructed the country’s Food and Veterinary Service to check the origin of all grain from Russia and Belarus transported through Lithuania. Samples have already been taken at a port to determine where the grain came from.
