Bandung DPRD committee deepens review of draft regulation for hospital construction

A special committee, Pansus 17, from the Bandung City Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) is deeply engaged in deliberations over a draft regional regulation concerning the development of the Bandung City General Hospital (RSUD). The committee convened a working meeting on Wednesday, July 29, to discuss the construction of both the hospital and the Regional Inspectorate building, utilizing a multi-year budgeting framework.

The meeting included representatives from the West Java Provincial Secretariat's Legal Bureau, the Bandung City Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD), the Bandung City Inspectorate, the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning, the Bandung City Health Department, and the RSUD itself. The discussion focused on the legal basis for multi-year budgeting, planning readiness, financing mechanisms, and alignment with existing regulations.

Maya Himawati, Chair of Pansus 17, emphasized the strategic importance of these construction projects. She stated that the draft regulation aims to ensure all phases of development, particularly those using multi-year funding, adhere to legal, administrative, and technical requirements. Himawati added that a well-equipped Inspectorate building would bolster internal oversight functions, while the new hospital is part of the city government's commitment to enhancing healthcare quality and accessibility for its citizens. The committee is gathering input to refine the regulation, ensuring it provides a robust legal foundation for the projects and contributes to better governance and improved public services in Bandung.
