Bandung Inaugurates Coffee Monument to Strengthen Identity as Top Indonesian Coffee Hub

Bandung Regency, Indonesia, has officially launched the "Monumen Kopi Kabupaten Bandung Mendunia" (Bandung Regency World-Class Coffee Monument) as a new icon and symbol of pride for the Soreang community. The monument, located on Jalan Al Fathu opposite Lapangan Upakarti, was inaugurated by Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna (KDS) on Monday evening, June 29, 2026.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by coffee farmers, industry players, and international guests, including students. Regent KDS stated that the monument underscores the government's commitment to reinforcing Bandung Regency's identity as Indonesia's premier coffee producer. "This monument is not just a landmark but a symbol of respect for the struggles of coffee farmers, entrepreneurs, communities, and all coffee enthusiasts who have elevated the name of Bandung Regency to global recognition," said Regent KDS.

The Regent expressed gratitude for Bandung Regency's natural landscape, which is highly conducive to producing high-quality coffee across areas like Ciwidey, Puntang, Malabar, Kertasari, Pangalengan, Arjasari, and Kamojang. Many of these coffee products have already penetrated export markets across continents.

More than that, this monument marks our great spirit to continue making coffee a strength of the economy, culture, tourism, and regional pride towards 'Bandung Mendunia'.

Regent KDS highlighted that the success of Bandung's coffee reaching global markets depends not only on bean quality but also on added value through post-harvest processing, innovative packaging design, digital marketing, and brand strengthening. Furthermore, developing downstream coffee products is crucial to ensure economic benefits reach the community, from improving farmer welfare and fostering SMEs to boosting tourism and creating new jobs.
