Bangka Selatan Regent Urges Follow-up on Audit Recommendations After Achieving WTP 2025

Bangka Selatan Regent Riza Herdavid has urged all regional work unit (OPD) heads to promptly follow up on recommendations from the Audit Board's (BPK) report on the 2025 Regional Government Financial Report (LKPD). This directive follows the regional government's successful attainment of an unqualified audit opinion, known as Wajar Tanpa Pengecualian (WTP), for the second consecutive year.

"To all heads of related OPDs, please immediately take the necessary steps to follow up on every recommendation from the BPK in a timely manner and in accordance with applicable regulations," Riza stated in Toboali on Saturday. He emphasized that the WTP opinion is not the end of efforts to improve governance but rather a momentum to enhance the quality of regional financial management by addressing all BPK recommendations.

Riza acknowledged the audit process conducted by the BPK not only as a supervisory function but also as a form of guidance, correction, and direction. This aims to improve the quality of regional financial report preparation to align with Government Accounting Standards, comply with laws, and be supported by an effective internal control system. He also expressed gratitude to the Head of the BPK Representative for Bangka Belitung Islands and the audit team for their assistance throughout the examination process.

"Thank you and appreciation to the Head of the BPK RI Representative for Bangka Belitung and the BPK audit team who have guided, corrected, and provided direction, so that Bangka Selatan once again achieves a WTP opinion on the 2025 LKPD," he said. This achievement, he added, demonstrates the Bangka Selatan Regency Government's commitment to realizing transparent, accountable, and compliant financial management, supporting sustainable development and community welfare. The success in maintaining the WTP opinion is attributed to the collaborative efforts of all Regional Financial Management Units (SKPKD) and OPDs that actively participated in the audit process. The support from the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) and the community of Bangka Selatan Regency was also acknowledged as a contributing factor to improving the quality of governance.
