Bangladesh Navy Must Strengthen Capabilities, Prime Minister Directs

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has directed the Bangladesh Navy to continue its modernization efforts, aiming to develop it into a contemporary, three-dimensional, and technology-driven force. The primary goal is to effectively safeguard the nation's maritime sovereignty, ensure national security, and bolster the blue economy.

The directive was issued during a courtesy call by the newly appointed Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Khondkar Misbah ul Azim, at the Prime Minister’s Office. The Prime Minister congratulated the new chief, expressing confidence in his leadership and pledging the government's full support. He highlighted the navy's critical functions in protecting maritime boundaries, securing international trade routes, promoting sustainable marine resource utilization, and advancing the blue economy.
