Bangladesh PM Visits Barishal for Tree Planting, Meets BNP Leaders

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman embarked on a daylong visit to Barishal on Tuesday, with his itinerary including participation in several tree plantation initiatives and a meeting with local leaders of the BNP party and its affiliated organizations.

Rahman departed from his residence in Dhaka shortly after 6:00 AM, traveling by road aboard a bus adorned with the slogan "Bangladesh First." His schedule encompasses tree planting events in the newly re-excavated Sarikal-Batajor area, at the Trish Godown Mass Killing Memorial site, and along the Sagar river adjacent to Trish Godown.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister is slated to attend a views exchange meeting with BNP leaders and representatives at the district Shilpakala Academy. This visit is notable as it represents Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's inaugural official trip to the Barishal division since assuming his current role. He is expected to return to Dhaka in the evening after concluding his engagements for the day.
