Bangladesh sets 2027 Hajj packages, cuts airfare

Bangladesh has announced its Hajj packages for 2027, aiming to fulfill an election pledge for an affordable and humane pilgrimage system. The cost of the highest government package is set at Tk 615,263, while the lowest is Tk 505,648. These packages offer varying accommodation distances from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and proximity to Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah.

Pilgrims opting for the top government package will stay within 1,000 to 1,400 meters of Masjid al-Haram and in the Markazia area of Madinah. They will be housed in Zone-2 tents in Mina, with services provided under Service Package-3. The expected stay in Saudi Arabia is 35 to 40 days, with options for room upgrades or shorter stays at an additional cost.

For those choosing the second government package, accommodation will be within two to three kilometers of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and within 800 meters of Masjid an-Nabawi in Madina. Tents in Mina will be in Zone-5, and shuttle bus services will be available if hotels are more than two kilometers from the Grand Mosque.

Private Hajj agencies will offer a standard package for Tk 513,648. Under this arrangement, accommodation must be within three kilometers of Masjid al-Haram and one kilometer of Masjid an-Nabawi, with a maximum of six pilgrims per room. Similar to the government packages, pilgrims will stay in Zone-5 tents in Mina, and Salawat bus services will be mandatory if hotels are over two kilometers away.

In a move to make Hajj more accessible, the government has reduced the airfare by Tk 24,830, bringing it down to Tk 130,000 from the previous year. Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain announced these details at a press briefing, emphasizing the commitment to an expatriate-friendly Hajj management system.
