Dhaka University authorities admitted they could not prevent large crowds of outsiders from overwhelming campus entry points for the FIFA World Cup 2026 final screening. Barricades set up to restrict access were breached around 11:00 pm on Sunday, despite restrictions being in place since 6:30 pm.

University Proctor Md Israfil Ratan acknowledged the authorities' failure to enforce the restrictions. "What could we do? We couldn't charge at them with batons. We did our best to discourage them, but they came with even greater enthusiasm," he said. He added that the university would be more cautious when organizing similar programs in the future.

The Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) became overcrowded, with continuous vuvuzela blowing. Several female students who had expected the restrictions to be enforced reported facing difficulties. One student, Razia Sultana Rumi, recounted being inappropriately touched while navigating the dense crowd, stating she came prepared for such an eventuality.

Earlier, the university administration and the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) had placed barricades at five key entry points to manage access to the campus for the event.
