Bangladeshi man remanded for four days in LRT molestation case

A Bangladeshi national is being held for four days as police investigate a molestation case that occurred on a Light Rail Transit (LRT) train in Setiawangsa. The incident reportedly took place around 8:30 AM on August 19th.

The victim stated that while traveling on the train from Wangsa Maju towards Pasar Seni station, she realized a man, later identified as the Bangladeshi suspect, was rubbing his genitals against her back.

The victim realized that a Bangladeshi national had molested her by rubbing his genitals against her back.

Prasarana Auxiliary Police apprehended the suspect at the Pasar Seni LRT Station on August 21st around 11:30 AM. He was subsequently handed over to the Criminal Investigation Division of the Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters.

The remand order for the suspect is effective from Saturday and will last for four days, aiding the ongoing investigation. The case is being prosecuted under Section 354 of the Penal Code, which carries a potential penalty of up to 10 years in prison, a fine, or caning, or any two of these punishments.
