Banjarmasin Hajj Dormitory Embarkation's new building inaugurated, likened to three-star hotel

A new accommodation building at the Banjarmasin Hajj Dormitory Embarkation in South Kalimantan, Indonesia, was officially opened on Friday by Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf. The newly constructed facility in Banjarbaru City aims to enhance the experience for Hajj pilgrims from both South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan.

Minister Yusuf praised the new building, likening its quality and amenities to those of a three-star hotel. He highlighted that the Banjarmasin embarkation's facilities are among the best in Indonesia, meeting high standards across the nation's 30 Hajj dormitories. "With this new building, I hope Hajj services will be much better in the future," Yusuf stated.

Beyond serving Hajj pilgrims during their season, the minister emphasized the importance of maintaining both the new and old buildings. He proposed that the dormitory could also be utilized year-round to serve Umrah pilgrims and the general public. "We are even planning for several Hajj dormitories to become one-stop services for Umrah pilgrims, and the Banjarmasin Hajj Dormitory Embarkation could be one of them," he explained.

This initiative seeks to optimize the use of Hajj dormitory infrastructure, providing comprehensive services from preparation and religious guidance (manasik) to departure logistics for Umrah pilgrims, in addition to its primary function for Hajj travelers.
