Bank Mandiri Taspen supports 'Go Green' campaign with school drinking water donation

Bank Mandiri Taspen has donated a drinking water machine valued at Rp42.4 million to SMA Dharma Wanita 1 Pare, a school located in Kediri, Indonesia. This contribution is intended to meet the students' needs for drinking water and simultaneously curb the consumption of single-use plastic packaging within the school environment.

Mineral water is one of the basic needs of students to support their learning activities. We try to elaborate on these basic needs with a go-green campaign program. From there, the idea to present this ready-to-drink water machine emerged.

The symbolic handover of the facility took place at the Convention Hall Simpang Lima Gumul (SLG) in Kediri. Iwan Kurniawan, Division Head of Strategic Digital & Corporate Transformation at Bank Mandiri Taspen, stated that providing drinking water machines is integral to the company's social responsibility programs, specifically targeting the education and environmental sectors.

He expressed hope that the facility would help reduce the reliance on plastic bottled water, which is still widely used in schools, thereby supporting the 'go green' campaign.

The ready-to-drink water machine for SMA Dharma Wanita 1 Pare is also a form of our concrete support for the go green campaign, especially in reducing the consumption of single-use plastic drinking water.

Ahmad Riziq Mubarok, the Principal of SMA Dharma Wanita 1 Pare, emphasized the significance of the donation for students residing in the school's dormitory. He noted that the constant need for safe and hygienic drinking water is paramount for the students' daily activities. Mubarok anticipates that the machine will not only improve access to quality drinking water but also foster environmentally friendly habits among the student body, contributing to waste reduction efforts.

Our students are in a dormitory (boarding school), where their activities are practically carried out 24 hours a day within the school environment. Automatically, the need and supply of healthy and hygienic mineral water are very high every day.
