Banking, water, and OSP changes: President signs three laws

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has signed into law three significant pieces of legislation. These acts address key areas including the operational capabilities of the fire service, resource management in energy production, and the integration of international financial regulations.

One of the new laws specifically pertains to the use of rescue dogs by the State Fire Service (OSP). This legislation is expected to enhance the effectiveness of search and rescue operations by formalizing and potentially expanding the role of canine units within the fire department.

Another law focuses on water usage within power plants and combined heat and power (CHP) plants. This measure likely aims to regulate or optimize water consumption in these critical industrial facilities, potentially addressing environmental or efficiency concerns.

Furthermore, the president signed legislation implementing the international Basel III standards. These banking regulations are designed to strengthen the resilience of the banking sector by increasing capital requirements and improving risk management frameworks, aligning Poland's financial system with global best practices.
