Banqiao Junior High Achieves Record 8th Consecutive National Title in Science Competition

Banqiao Junior High School in New Taipei City has cemented its legacy in the National Science and Technology Creative Competition, securing an astounding eighth consecutive national championship in the life technology category. This remarkable achievement not only underscores the school's consistent excellence but also represents a profound commitment to leveraging technology education as a tool for personal transformation.

The gold medal behind this achievement represents teachers' dedication to not giving up on any child and using technology education to transform life trajectories.

The winning team, comprised of students Chen Yu-ting, Huang Po-hao, and Huang Tzu-en, triumphed in a competition that challenged participants to design bridge structures and transportation mechanisms. Team captain Chen Yu-ting recalled a difficult month of team coordination prior to the event, even sustaining a finger injury from a utility knife during practice. Despite the setback, the team persevered, demonstrating resilience in their training.

Fellow team member Huang Po-hao shared that while his academic performance wasn't always stellar, he discovered confidence and a platform in the life technology field, finally believing in his own capabilities. Another team, led by Zheng Zhong-ping, secured an honorable mention. Zheng reflected on his journey, moving from a loss in seventh grade to leading younger students in eighth grade, learning the importance of responsibility and collaboration. These experiences highlight how the competition fosters not just technical skills but also crucial life lessons in perseverance and leadership.

Principal Peng Yi-ting emphasized that the school's strong foundation in life technology stems from the selfless dedication of its instructors, including Chan Ming-wei, Yen Yung-hsuan, and Li Chi-ming. Furthermore, alumni who have since advanced to higher education continue to return voluntarily to mentor current students, showcasing a powerful cycle of support and knowledge transfer. This collaborative spirit, combined with a focus on hands-on learning and unwavering mentorship, has proven instrumental in flipping students' life trajectories, empowering them with confidence and a belief in their ability to overcome challenges.
