Barca Sign Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund for €29m

Barcelona has secured the signing of forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of 29 million euros, potentially rising with add-ons. The versatile 24-year-old German international has committed his future to the Catalan club, signing a contract that runs until June 30, 2031.

Adeyemi becomes Barcelona's second acquisition of the summer transfer window, following the earlier signing of England international Anthony Gordon from Newcastle. His arrival is seen as a significant boost to Barcelona's attacking options, particularly in the wake of veteran striker Robert Lewandowski's departure.

The club also faced a shortage in attack due to the end of Marcus Rashford's loan spell from Manchester United. Barcelona has reportedly made a bid for Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, who is considered their primary target for the summer.

Adeyemi brings a wealth of experience from his time at Dortmund, where he joined in 2022 from Red Bull Salzburg. During his four seasons with the German club, he netted 36 goals in 146 appearances across all competitions. Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, who previously managed Adeyemi at the German national team level, gave him his debut for the national squad in 2021.
