Barcelona rout Rayo Vallecano 5-2 as Raphinha and Lamine Yamal score twice

Barcelona extended its perfect start to the LaLiga season with a 5-2 win over Rayo Vallecano, but the defending champions had to recover from an early setback at Camp Nou.

Sergio Camello put Rayo ahead in the 12th minute after receiving an assist from Álvaro García. Barcelona responded quickly. Raphinha equalized in the 19th minute following a combination with Pedri and Xavi Espart, and Lamine Yamal turned the match around two minutes later with a powerful left-footed shot.

Barcelona increased its lead in the 51st minute when Florian Lejeune scored an own goal after Anthony Gordon broke forward down the left. Rayo refused to disappear from the contest, with Camello scoring again in the 59th minute. The Madrid side then created further chances, and Pau Cubarsí prevented Camello from completing a hat trick during one of Barcelona's more difficult spells.

The home side finally regained control in the 71st minute. Gordon set up Raphinha with a backheel, allowing the Brazilian to finish and complete his brace. The goal took Raphinha's league tally to five. Yamal added Barcelona's fifth in the 90th minute after a pass from Adeyemi, completing his own two-goal performance. Barcelona now has three victories from three matches, while Rayo Vallecano has one point.
