Barcelona thrash Rayo Vallecano 5-2 as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha score doubles

Barcelona turned an early setback into a five-goal victory over Rayo Vallecano, with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal each scoring twice in a 5-2 win at Camp Nou.

Rayo struck first after 12 minutes when Álvaro García set up Sergio Camello on a counterattack. Barcelona needed only seven minutes to equalize through Raphinha, and Yamal completed the comeback two minutes later for his first goal of the season. Xavi Espart and Marc Bernal provided the assists in the first half.

Florian Lejeune’s own goal in the 51st minute extended Barcelona’s lead. Camello reduced the deficit with an assist from Unai López, but Raphinha restored the home side’s advantage after Anthony Gordon supplied the pass. Gordon recorded his second assist of the 2026-27 season.

Yamal completed the scoring in the 90th minute after receiving an assist from Karim Adeyemi. The result kept Barcelona at the top of LaLiga, level on points with Real Madrid after both clubs opened the season with three victories. Barcelona hold first place because of their superior goal difference.

Barcelona next visit Valencia, who have not won in their opening three matches. Rayo, who have one point from nine and sit in the relegation places, face another difficult period after conceding eight goals and recording no victories. Raphinha leads Barcelona and LaLiga with five goals, followed by Kylian Mbappé on four, while Camello has three.
