Barcelona to sue Real Madrid president Pérez over referee claims

Rafael Yuste, acting president of FC Barcelona, declared that the club's legal department is ready to sue Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez. The lawsuit stems from Pérez's accusations that Barcelona bought league titles by influencing referees. Yuste made the announcement during a meeting of the club's Senate at the Spotify Camp Nou.

"A 600 kilometers away, they have not digested Barça's successes," Yuste stated, referencing the rivalry between the two clubs. He described Pérez's press conference, where the accusations were made, as "dantesque" and a "disgrace." Yuste emphasized that Barcelona would not allow its name to be tarnished.

"We will see each other in court," Yuste declared to the assembled senators. "Because I will tell you one thing: no one can tarnish the name of Barça, this crest. No one touches any of you; we will take care of it. Therefore, trust us, because we will go after them, because we have the advantage."

Yuste's comments come amid ongoing tensions between the two Spanish football giants, fueled by historical rivalries and recent on-field successes. The legal action signals a significant escalation in the dispute, moving it from the sports arena to the courtroom.
