After a scoreless first half, the match opened up in the second. Polish striker Ewa Pajor broke the deadlock ten minutes after the restart with a precise finish. She extended Barcelona's lead fifteen minutes later, converting a pass from substitute Claudia Pina, securing her position as the tournament's top scorer with 11 goals.

Lyon, a team historically dominant in the competition, struggled to convert their chances. Tabitha Chawinga missed a clear opportunity to pull one back for the French side.
