Barrancabermeja Activates Hospital Yellow Alert for Presidential Inauguration

Barrancabermeja has activated a hospital yellow alert, effective from August 6 to August 10, to ensure adequate health service provision during the presidential inauguration on August 7. The measure requires all public and private hospitals within the city to activate their emergency and contingency plans. The Center for Regulation of Emergencies, Disasters, and Urgencies (CRUE) will play a crucial role in monitoring the operational status of referral and counter-referral systems, coordinating emergency responses, and ensuring the availability of resources for urgent and pre-hospital care. This directive aims to prepare the city's health system for any potential events arising from the official ceremonies and anticipated public mobilizations. Meanwhile, Bucaramanga has also intensified its security measures for the inauguration. The city has decreed a dry law from Thursday, August 6, to Saturday, August 8, and imposed restrictions on the transport of debris, moving services, and construction materials. Additionally, drone operations are prohibited within a two-kilometer radius of official buildings. The National Army has also suspended permits for carrying legal firearms in Bucaramanga to prevent incidents and bolster security during the presidential inauguration.
