Barranquilla's most-wanted 'Mauricio el Quesero' captured in Cundinamarca

Authorities in Colombia have apprehended alias 'Mauricio el Quesero,' a high-ranking member of the Los Costeños criminal organization, in Cajicá, Cundinamarca. The suspect was a priority target, appearing on Barranquilla's most-wanted list for his alleged involvement in homicides and firearms offenses.

The capture was the result of an operation by the National Police's Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Directorate, which had been tracking the individual suspected of participating in various criminal acts in Barranquilla and Soledad. Police investigations indicate that 'Mauricio el Quesero' was a key figure in orchestrating selective homicides and was also linked to extortion and the control of criminal revenue streams in the Barranquilla metropolitan area.

His arrest in Cundinamarca, hundreds of kilometers from his alleged operational base, highlights the extent to which criminal leaders attempt to evade law enforcement. 'Mauricio el Quesero' reportedly has five prior judicial records.
